IMS GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH
The Island’s one-stop shop mailing house has just become even bigger with the introduction of some exciting additions to its day-to-day operation.
Since its establishment as a mailroom in 1998, Integrated Mailing Solutions (IMS) has grown dramatically to become the largest mailing house in the Isle of Man and Channel Islands. Located within Isle of Man Post Office’s headquarters in Douglas, IMS is the businesses’ fastest growing area with revenues growing 30% last year. With a portfolio of clients in local government, UK financial services along with international commercial organisations, IMS provides a range of services including mail opening, printing, fulfilment, document scanning and data capture, stationery and franking.
IMS provides high quality cost effective personalised mailings and the demand for its colour printing services over recent times has just seen IMS purchase two Xerox ColourQube printers. These new printers will increase IMS’s printing capacity significantly using the latest technology.
Furthermore, a major enhancement to a current service has been introduced. IMS has purchased its first C4 envelopment machine which will revolutionise its fulfilment service. It will enable mailings from simple single page inserts to more complex multiple insert mailings to be completed accurately and quicker than ever before. This new addition to IMS’s family of mail processing machinery means for customers, the decision of which mailing house to use in the Isle of Man, Channel Islands or United Kingdom, becomes an easy one.
Since its inception, IMS has always put three particular areas of its operation first – quality, confidentiality and security. In July last year, IMS achieved the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 accreditation guaranteeing the confidentiality, integrity and security of all clients’ commercially sensitive information. Indeed this was a major milestone as IMS became the first printing, scanning and mailing specialist on the Isle of Man and Channel Islands to achieve this high standard. ISO 270001 accreditation also gave IMS the leading edge as many mailing houses possess ISO/IEC 9001, covering quality management systems only and not the security accreditation which so many clients now consider as a prerequisite before deciding to outsource their work.
Alan Crowe, Chairman of Isle of Man Post Office said: “IMS’s history is a fascinating one from starting out as a small mailroom to becoming the leading mail house in the Isle of Man and Channel Islands. As with any business, expertise builds and strengthens over time and this combined with innovative thinking and using the latest advances in technology, has led to us having a team that is second to none. In addition, Isle of Man Post Office has high levels of specialist expertise and resourcing which has developed from a wealth of experience built up over many years in the postal and mailing industry.”
Russell Cowin, Acting General Manager IMS said: “Demand in all IMS services has grown as businesses become aware of the need to save costs and outsource aspects of their day-to-day work to us and this has led to IMS’s size and capacity more than doubling in recent times.”
IMS has a dedicated website -
www.ims-iom.com - which promotes IMS globally as an attractive and trusted organisation in which to do business with on the Isle of Man. Russell commented: “This global awareness will continue to build IMS’s reputation and fly the flag for the Isle of Man’s strategy of Freedom to Flourish.”
